At Hearco, nothing makes us prouder than seeing the life-changing impact that the right hearing technology can have. Recently, we had the privilege of working with Roy Charles Luckham, a Royal Navy veteran whose story was recently featured by Veterans Hearing Support.

The Story

Roy served as an Engine Room Artificer from 1957 to 1969. Years of exposure to high-intensity engine noise left him struggling with significant hearing loss. Like many veterans, Roy found that his hearing difficulties were leading to social isolation, a loss of confidence, and frustration during family gatherings.

After Roy applied through the Veterans Hearing Support scheme, Hearco was selected to manage his care. Our lead audiologist conducted a comprehensive assessment to understand Roy’s specific needs and lifestyle. We recommended and fitted Roy with top-of-the-range Phonak hearing aids.
