Hearing Tests

Think you might be missing out?

(We mean conversations, not just TV volume.) If you’re smiling through mystery sentences or blaming the room again, a proper hearing test is a good place to start.

Choose the right hearing test

Three appointment types appear on the booking page. Here’s what each one is for, how long it takes and when to choose it.

Hearing Aid Assessment

1h 30m · Free

Best if you’re considering hearing aids, upgrading existing devices, or want independent advice before buying.

Includes time to discuss your listening needs, current hearing difficulties, technology options and what would suit your lifestyle.

Full Hearing Test

1h · £59

Best if you want a complete clinical picture of your hearing, not just a quick screening result.

We’ll chat, check your ears, test your hearing and explain the results in plain language, with practical next steps.

Free Hearing Check

15m · Free

Best if you want a quick indication of whether your hearing may need a fuller assessment.

A short check helps you decide whether to book a full test. It’s not a replacement for a full clinical hearing assessment.

What happens in the appointment?

These six steps show what clients can expect in a Full Hearing Test and the clinical foundation of a Hearing Aid Assessment.

1

We start with your story

We ask what you’re noticing day to day, where hearing feels hardest and what you want to improve.

2

We check your ear health

We look in the ears first, so wax, irritation or anything needing medical attention doesn’t get missed.

3

We measure your hearing properly

You’ll complete calibrated hearing tests so we can understand the quietest sounds you can hear across pitches.

4

We connect results to real life

We explain what the results mean for speech, background noise and the situations you actually care about.

5

You leave with your results explained

We talk through what the test shows, answer questions and explain whether monitoring or medical referral makes sense.

6

We plan the right support

If you’re having a Hearing Aid Assessment, this is where we use the findings to match hearing technology to your lifestyle, listening needs and budget.

The Free Hearing Check is shorter, so it’s best used as a quick starting point rather than a full clinical assessment.

If you’re simply curious about your hearing, you can start with our free online hearing check from home. It only takes a few minutes and can give you an initial indication of how well you’re hearing.

An online hearing check doesn’t replace a professional hearing assessment.

'Matthew is a talented and dedicated audiologist. He tested my hearing carefully, explained my type of hearing loss and presented me with a range of different hearing aid choices from a variety of companies. He used sophisticated equipment to test and tune the performance, including Real Ear Measurement, of the hearing aids and worked hard to create the best possible match. I have bought hearing aids from a high reputation audiologist in this area previously and I found Matthew’s service superior while his prices were significantly less.'
